Joseph R. Donofro is the president of donofro Architects and oversees the Dothan Studio. Since graduating Auburn University in 1979 with a Bachelors Degrees in Architecture and Environmental Science, Mr. Donofro has overseen many landmark projects in the Southeast, while maintaining an active civic and community service involvement. He has held the position as an officer in the Alabama Council AlA and was a charter member of the local AlA component. He has served as an officer and board member with Design Alabama, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Dothan Redevelopment Authority, and is a member of the Dothan Tuesday Rotary Club.
Donofro Architects was established in Dothan, Alabama in 1955, by his father, Joseph L. Donofro. Donofro and was the first firm to locate in Dothan. Works consist of custom design projects including flagship commercial spaces, ecclesiastical, educational, financial historic, industrial, institutional, healthcare, municipal, Native American as well as residential, retail and restaurants.
He is licensed to practice in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina and North Carolina.
